correct version of flash player for ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS

Asked by jon ferdinand

Hi, I just got a new computer with Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS, and was getting ready to install the necessary Adobe Flash Player for it, but am not seeing any options available whence upon going into the Adobe Flash Player website. The only thing I see that looks remotely relevantly available is for Ubuntu 9.04+ to click onto, so perhaps this is the correct choice to make, or is there actually a more recent updated version available for Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS that I am not in fact seeing?

Thanks for your help........

You should use the package management tools in Ubuntu to install the Adobe Flash Player. That way, the Flash Player will be automatically maintained and updated. To do this, go to Applications > Ubuntu Software Center, type "flashplugin-installer" (without the quotes) in the search box at the upper-right corner of the window, click on "Adobe Flash plugin" when it comes up in the search, and click Install.

Another way :

You can install the flash player by entering the following command in your terminal:
sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree

[Now it will ask you to enter the root password , once you entered the password it gives you option [Y/n]. Press Enter or Type Y and Enter it will download the flash player and installs in your machine]

Restart the browser.
