kubuntu panel troubles

The buttons for running programs have suddenly dissappeared from my kde panel (Kubuntu 10.4). The only way I can switch programs now is with Alt-Tab. Messing around in the interface makes things only worse. Is there a method to restore the default settings of the panel (perhaps with a command in the editor)? Or can it be done manually?

@ All: I found the solution by myself: Somehow I had erased the Task Manager widget. I put it back by adding the widget to the panel.
