how to select whole address in address bar in web browser

Asked by kumar

Hi, this is a really tiny thing but its really useful as i surf heavily.. in Windows, in any web browser(chrome, firefox, ie) whenever one click in the address, it selects the whole address.. so its easy to copy the address or type a new address.. however in ubuntu, it doesn't select the whole address, so one need to do select all(ctrl+a) for this.. is there a way to get the windows property... thanks...

One click on an address in a web browser will open the link in the current wndow (unless there is additional HTML code to open it in a new window)

I am running windows now and cannot recreate what you say in ANY browser (IE7, Firefox and Chromium tested)

oh i thought you meant hyperlink, yes i see what you mean now. You can double click the address bar in Ubuntu to get the same thing

I'd submit it as an idea at:
