Chrome and Firefox Performance - Jaunty?

Asked by sam-c

I installed recently Chrome for Linux on the same UBUNTU Jaunty 9.04 Linux the Performance is much higher than Firefox! What was slowing the FireFox? About 3 Tabs opened at same time and all I wanted to do is put a comment on Myspace. Firefox Froze. Why?
Lenovo Desktop with only half a gig of Memory.
On Firefox lots of addons and Toolbars etc.
Opera and Konqueror also are faster.
Adobe Flash 10 also seems to slow things down.
Thanks for any advice.
Sam

Firefox is garbage, Webkit is much slicker than Gecko

Flash is also proprietary so cannot be improved by the community so its down to adobe to get themselves sorted. Flash + firefox uses HORRIC quantities of RAM but is slightly better in chromium.

You can speed up web browsing by running a local dns service via dnsmasq

Flash seems to work much better with firefox 3.0.16 and 3,5.6

Can you help with this problem?
