This is standard. Flash is horifically bad with memory. Some people even report 1Gb RAM usage under flash.

and firefox also takes lot of memory about 150 MB wven when no video is running on it so you need to change the browser to its sister browser like seamonkey... that should work fine

Basically, Firefox is a big memory hogging hunk of junk but everybody rates it due to the addons it has

You can also try swiftfox or kazehakase, they are smaller versions of firefox. You could also try Epiphany, Opera, Konqueror or any of the great miriad of browsers (Midori doesn't support javascript so isn't hugely useful) available on the repositories.

CPU usage is less on seamonkey, however i think that adobe, firefox and ubuntu should work together to fix this issue earliest possible !!!!!!!

Firefox sucks and its been an issue for a LOOOONG time. Its even a memory hog under Windows. My firefox easily hits 300Mb without any hesitation

Personally I think it stinks and don't understand why people use it, short of ignorance of alternatives.

Can you help with this problem?
