ff closes unexpectedly.

Asked by ERH_1957

I am completely new and tried reporting the bug/problem via the report a problem but the problem happened while I was reporting the problem.

just installed ubuntu on saturday and am very frustrated.

nagivating the forums hasn't helped since i'm not familiar with where to post or what question has or hasn't been answered.

so, i'm at a loss.

ff seems to be closing while i'm scrolling or clicking down through lists.

but other windows in linux have closed unexpectedly as well.

I got an error yesterday after downloading some updates. the error was about nautilus but i don't know if it's related or not.

Could you please provide your systems specifications and the OS you're using and on what type of System.

Ubuntu 8.04 - the Hardy Heron - released in April 2008

I regret I must ask precisely what you mean by system specifications.

It's a Toshiba computer about 4 years old. I can tell you that.
If you ask a more specific question, perhaps I'll be able to manage that.
Sorry.

I also can tell you that i downloaded a lot of updates yesterday. Ubuntu froze a couple times.

When it finally finished I got this message which i'm not sure is related, but it might be.

E:nautilus-data:subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 139
E:nautilus:dependency problems-leaving unconfigured

Hmm...sounds as if there are dependency issues with updating which is probably an issue in your repo's. I'm actually headed off to bed(Third shift at work so I've been up forever...) but I made a bug report concerning your problem so somebody should be able to answer your question. Just stick around...You might also try using XChat. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/XChat-GNOME If you install that then check this out as well. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BeginnersTeam

Can you help with this problem?
