How do I play runescape with Firefox on Ubuntu? Runescape won't pick sun java up

Asked by Mathilda Young

I have tried many times and I think the answers are either out of date or work for a different linux os. I am also having a tough time getting it to work with minefield (firefox3.7)

try running this when you get it running:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras sun-java6-plugin && sudo update-java-alternatives -s java-6-sun && sudo apt-get remove mozilla-plugin-gnash swf-player

If you get any missing packages errors, make sure you have all your sources enabled.

OK I got it to work... I installed the package called Ubuntu Restricted Extras, restarted the computer, and now it works fine. Any idea how to install java 7 though?
