how do i install firefox 57.0.4+build1-0ubuntu0.16.04.1

Asked by Mr NJTON

I have firefox 57.0.4 installed. I read about a security risk here https://usn.ubuntu.com/usn/ and wonder if I need to get a further update. If so how? I visited this site https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/57.0.4+build1-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 but I'm not sure what if anything needs to be done and how. Thanks.

Just start update-manager and you should see that the updates is already waiting to be installed with a single keypress.

Or open a terminal window and issue the commands
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-next
sudo apt-get update

Will give you 58 if that's any good to you. Obviously it comes with the usual caveats of a PPA.

Can you help with this problem?
