firefox 3.0.7 Bookmarks

i am using the beta version of Ubuntu.The Navigation buttons from firefox are not working, meaning i can't go back a page. also there is a problem with the bookmarks. I have like 10, but after i updated it disappeared.
 the whole thing is a mess. the url bar does not change when i open a new tab, i can't bookmark anything.
I checked the preferences, it all good.

any solutions.

It happens the same to me. How did you solve it? All my preferences seem to be OK.

i was lucky, i guess. I ran firefox using the terminal.
"sudo firefox" somehow this fixed it, but if you find another way tell me.
