can't get games to run on firefox

i am a new user, and i have downloaded and tried to run both limewire and flashplayer.neither program will open. i have tried typing desktop/jre-6ul-linux-i586-rpm.bin to no avail. also. i downloaded adobe and i am having the same issue with it. please tell me how to fix this problem. i am going through letter linker and jeopardy withdrawels.please, please send me an answer before i end up rocking back and forth in a dirty nightgown saying over and over........edgy firefox, edgy fire fox.........ubuntu,ubuntu.lol seriously, help me before i spontaneously combust.
