I had the same problem and found that I had arab eyes installed. The problem of separated letters was resolved when I changed the system font toan arab font with regards to the os and writing software, however when accessing firefox the separated letters are still a problem. I did change the font within firefox however it didnt make a difference. Any help would be appreciated.

I have found the solution. What you need to do is Firefox>Edit>Preferences>Content>Fonts and Colours>Advanced

Select >Fonts for: Arabic.
Change all fonts into a clear Arabic font.

MOST IMPORTANTLY - Untick 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts...'
Change your character encoding to 'User defined'>Press ok.

Change the default font to an Arabic font and make sure the size is correct.

As long as your system is displaying Arabic accurately this should resolve the problem with firefox seperating your letters too. I am a novice so if what I described was obvious then sorry.

Of course you must have Arabic added as a language aside from all else, you will see the option to add it at the bottom of the screen under languages.
