Sending a message in Yahoo drom Ubuntu Firefox returns error report: "q has no properites" OK when doing the same in MS XP. Able to send message using Gmail.

This looks like a problem with the Yahoo website and not the firefox package... Are you using the new Yahoo Beta or the old Yahoo email system?

Yes it is Yahoo Beta used with Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.3 to get the error and
the same Yahoo Beta used with Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.11 to NOT get the error

in the second case it's with Windows XP

Strange, I'm also using Yahoo Beta and I haven't gotten any problems with either FF 2.0.0.3 or 1.5 ... Are you using programs that block javascript such as NoScript? those might be interfering with the normal operation of the website

I don't believe so. Could it be that something downloaded may have interfered with it working OK before, as it was?

I doubt it. You may want to try to reinstall firefox, see if that fixes the problem.
