how can i install google toolbar for firefox because i install that and i'm having problems

i install google toolbar for firefox but i cannot open it because it says (There is no application installed for this file type) but i don't know what that means and how do you install the application that is needed ????

Are you using a 64 bits Ubuntu release...?

Now, go to System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager and search for firefox 3.
Right click and reinstall

install firefox 2 and google is compatible with it.
