Image not displayed inline

Asked by Jack

I am running Firefox on the UBUNTU 5.10 distribution.
When I go to the site http://www.hackaday.com I cannot get the pictures in the articles to display inline. If I request it to show the picture (right click and choose 'view image'), it shows ok on a screen by itself correctly.

TIA .. JC

I just checked your link and the images show up for me.

Is it possible that you have unchecked the box for "Load Images" under Firefox's "Edit > Preferences > Web Features dialog box?"

Same thing happens to me now and again, JC. .JPG files come through corrupted. Firefox settings are A-OK.

Reload-bad-reload-bad-reload-bingo! Weird... Thanks for the tip on the right-click.

ANSWER FOUND!

The settings in Foxfire were set to allow loading of images, but on the same preferences page it was set to NOT allow loading of pictures from a different web site.

Unchecking this option fixed the display of this web site.

Thank you all for the kind responses. That is why Open Source works ... we help each other!

similar but not same problem when trying to view pictures in web pages' posts (various websites, but mostly happens at http://www.pkblogs.com/plush-life and similar picture-heavy sites).

Differences: I do not have a "Web Features" dialog box under
Edit --> Preferences.

Some pictures do show up on all sites.

No sites show up all the photos.

I'm running Firefox 2.0.0.1 on Ubuntu-edgy.

Does this sound fixable?

Thank you -- I love Ubuntu and Firefox, and have only had this problem since the last browser/release upgrade (about a month ago).

Clearing cache doesn't help.
