mail not sent

Evolution functioned okay so far. Fine programme!
But:
Then mail was not sent anymore because of my ISP closing port 25.
I changed everything to port 587 (in mail server - smtp_additional - and in evolution outgoing mail).
This functioned for a while, but then everything stopped again - mail not sent away.
Via another machine (window xp - opera) the mail server funtions okay. Telnet to server + post 587 is also okay.
So I must have done something wrong in Evolution - but..what?????
