firefox previously loaded 5 times now fails

Asked by jameswatkins

Firefox has worked ok for previous 5 sessions.
Now it displays cannot find server.
ADSL connection ok - all lights normal and system still works with firefox under windows.
I have made NO changes to any of the settings.
Is there another browser I can add for linux ubuntu as backup or alternative.
Why does firefox do this?
Can I remove firefox and reload only it from my cd to reestablish connection?
Thanks,
JW

Try to delete .mozilla directory -- it's hidden directory in your home folder (to see it press Ctrl+H or View→Show hidden files). This directory contains all firefox preferences etc. (warning: by deleting this folder you'll loose your bookmarks, saved passwords, history...).
