are you administrating the webserver yourself and are you using apache?

If yes, maybe there's something wrong with your .htaccess file (a hidden file)? You should be able to find it in the webdirectory you're experiencing problems in. The linux command line

ls -a -l
will display hidden files as well.

you could try deleting the .htaccess file (back it up first) to see if the problem goes away. If it does fix problem, then copy back the .htaccess file and have a developer fix it.

ok, are you trying to browse a website you created? Or is it someone else's website?

ok, this is not your problem.

Disney world misconfigured their website. Send them an email and tell them they have a problem.

By the way error 500 is a remote server error it is .not. related to your Ubuntu setup.
