How did you install it in the first place? Also, did you try running Thunderbird with:-

Okay, I downloaded from Mozilla. Then installed. I found it this morning but had to go through a lot of places. Is there a way to just put it in place of the mail icon on menu bar. I just want to run it without having to spend ten minutes looking for the file. Used to Bindows.
Thanks

I FOUND IT! I found the T-Bird execute file, clicked and dragged to menu bar at top. Then it gave me a menu to make it a launcher.
WHew! Thanks folks.

Usually is better to install Thunderbird from repositories:

Open a Terminal (on Ubuntu little different in Kubuntu) from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install thunderbird

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.
