I opened an attachment from an email, then canceled out of that email. I pressed OPEN instead of SAVE. Then I proceeded to type away to 795 words for my report and then canceled out after I thought I pressed save. Then, IT'S GONE!!!

when you typed the stuff the file was in ram if you didnt save it it wont be on your hard disk. but if you look in tmp on the file system and the file could be there if its not then its probably gone

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I hate to sound rash but "I forgot to save my file" is neither an Ubuntu problem nor a Windows problem. This is a user problem. Remember to save your files regularly, especially when working with files that contain lots of data like a 795 word report.

Can you help with this problem?
