Can't upgrade Firefox and Chrome on Linux Gloria 7 edition ?

I have Linux Gloria 7 edition on my old Acer laptop. I am new to Linux a ( Newbe)
When I open Firefox and Chrome I get a message "you are using older versions but I can't download either one to upgrade ? Thanks for any suggestions!

Sorry, but Linux Gloria is not supported here. This is covering Ubuntu only.

As far as I know, Gloria is the name for Linux Mint release 7 (from the year 2009). So I recommend that you try the mint forums http://forums.linuxmint.com/ but I would not be too optimistic that you find any support for an old and outdated OS version like Gloria, see also http://www.linuxmint.com/oldreleases.php

I assume that the only reasonable solution for your problem is installing a current version of the operating system.

Thank you for your quick response to my Question, I didn't realize Gloria 7 was that old.
I plan to download Linux "rebecca to see if my problems are ironed out . !
