installing sofware

when i try to install a software from net it says that
An error occured

The following details are provided:
W: Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/p/python-pysqlite2/python-pysqlite2_2.3.2-1build1_i386.deb
  Could not connect to localhost:4001 (200.219.152.6), connection timed out

W: Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/g/gajim/gajim_0.10.1-0ubuntu5_i386.deb
  Could not connect to localhost:4001 (200.219.152.6), connection timed out

i m using 6.10

Are you on a proxy?

Are you sure that you are connected to the internet?,

If so: Please remove any anonymity proxy completely,

Or,Open up your Synaptic package manager (usually as root), go to Settings-> Preference -> Network. Enter your proxy server details like : username:<email address hidden>, and put the proxy server port(as an example 8080).
