google chrome will not open from the terminal after installatio

Asked by nigel brown

I decided to try using Google Chrome as I have begun to experience a problem with Firefox. I thought I would see how Chrome went and then perhaps look into sorting out the problem with Firefox. I seemed to install Chrome successfully and Ubuntu software centre told me at the end of the process that I had to operate it from the terminal with the order , google-chrome-stable. The terminal told me it could not do this as it would cause some kind of conflict. I tried reinstalling chrome , but the outcome was the same. Is the problem with Chrome perhaps connected to the problem with Firefox? I suspect the problem there might be something to do with an add on I unwisely tried. I did try using a command in terminal to solve the firefox problem but the command was not recognised. The command was , mv~/.mozilla~/.mozilla.old

Thanks. The spaces make all the difference. I am learning albeit rather slowly!
