If you have a supported wifi card this is usually automatic. Chances are your card is "not well supported". That doesn't mean you can't use wifi - just that it's going to take some extra work. Open a terminal (apps - accessories) and type

lspci | grep -i wireless

and paste the output here. You might also check https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessTroubleShootingGuide for info on troubleshooting wifi.

I put in the terminal "lspci|grep -i wireless", and appears "06:02.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02)". I do not know what it means.

hello,
I'm using the same wireless card and I activated it with these step:
1: download "bcm43xx-firmware_1.3-1ubuntu2_all.deb" from http://ubuntu.cafuego.net/pool/feisty-cafuego/bcm43xx/bcm43xx-firmware_1.3-1ubuntu2_all.deb
2: install that package
3: I waited 10 - 20 second ( according to speed of machine )
4: I typed at terminal "sudo modprobe bcm43xx"
n my wireless device work in excellent condition.

hope this help.....

If you have already installed the driver, maybe now you just need to activate it.

Go to SYSTEM -> ADMINISTRATION -> HARDWARE DRIVERS.

There you can see the status of your drivers. Then you just need to activate it. I think that's it!

Hope it helps.

Can you help with this problem?
