how do you change hard drives

how do you change hard drives I want to replace a 2tb drive with a 3tb drive but I don't know which of my drives have my os on any help will be a appreciated. I'm not familer with this os so I will need a step by step instruction Thanks. Vern Wilkins

sudo parted -l; sudo fdisk -l

Will give clues as to which drive to pull.
