By foxfire I asume you mean the firefox web browser. To find out what version of firefox you are runing just start up firefox, and click help, and then about firefox. This will tell you the version. You can find your Ubuntu version by copying:
lsb_release -a | grep Description
into the terminal program, and pressing enter.
