What make and model scanner?
What version of Ubuntu?
How does the scanner connect?
How can you expect any sort of intelligent reply when you give near zero data?
What applications have you attempted to scan with?

1) Please give us the exact model and make your scanner.

2) Please also send us the output of this command:

lsusb

This is written LSUSB but in small letters.

3) Please also read this:

https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/printing/C/scanning.html

4) I have also written a korn shell script that semi-automates scanning individual documents via Epson scanners that do not allow scanning in bulk, but only one page at a time....

You can get the korn shell script here:

https://github.com/MarkRijckenberg/shell-scripts

I do not know if the epson-scanner-automation-program.sh script will work on your scanner. I only tested it on an Epson Stylus CX6600

If you decide to use the script, don't forget to make it executable first and to change the Email address on line 122 and 132 in the script.

If you use my script, please first read all the comments in the script itself. There are several prerequisites / programs that first need to be installed.

Can you help with this problem?
