I have no virus protection

I bought this laptop from a friend and I do not know how to put a virus protection update as I know of there is none plus I cannot update Ubuntu I cannot unlock or change passwords or codes

Viruses don't exist in Linux (at least there are none in the wild) so you don't have to worry about that but see the link in post #1 for more information.

To reset your password

First find out your user name. If you don't know already open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and enter

whoami

Next reset the password
