Java not working in Firefox under Ubuntu, but it's working under Windows.

My OS is Ubuntu12.10 and the Java applet is not working with Firefox 17.0 when I visit www.sgx.com and want to view some stock price chart.

What Windows does or doesn't do bares near zero relevance to Ubuntu. It is an entirely separate OS with separate support.

If you want Oracle Java then run:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-installer

Close all browsers and rerun
