Installing .xpi (forms toolbar) for Firefox

Asked by Todd Edelman

Hi. For a particular task I have to install a fan .xpi file - forms toolbar - for use in Firefox. I downloaded it from the website on which I have to fill out some forms, but don't know how to install it, as it did not come through the Software Center. Thanks!

If you drag the XPI file to the browser, does it install?

On the Dash? No, it just opens a new tab in Firefox.

drag the file from nautilus to the browser. This is all I know. I don't use Firefox so cannot advise very much. If you can give the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; apt-cache policy firefox

It may help

OK. I tried it again and got an incompatibility message with the form app and my version of FF. Thanks again!
