Unable to open midi files from cyberbass.com

The cyberbass.com site provides midi format files for listening to choral singing lines for rehearsal and learning. I can open these using Windows XP, but not in Ubuntu (vers 12.04). My browser is Firefox 16.0.1. I have Rythmbox on my system. Whereas in XP a play control panel is displayed when I click the file, nothing similar happens in Ubuntu. I have not referred the problem to Cyberbass yet.

If you install vlc it should be ok. I believe you will need timidity to play them in other players
