not recognizing that Java is installed ever since latest version sent in a few weeks ago

Asked by Steve

I believe that I have successfully installed Java runtime environment as a java test page loaded correctly, yet when I try to play a Yahoo games or a gamesville game requiring the jre, I get an indication to install java. Java is installed and works for the jave test item yet trying to Firefox to see its existence fails. Since it fails similarly on ywo unrelated pages, I believe the fault must be on me. Any help? Thanks! Steve

I also have a bit of a problem that I don't believe is related to jre. When I go to www.toyota.com I get a picture blank overlaing the screen such that the model drop down menus are "under" the picture rendering the menus unusable. I also get the same problem when at www.mst.edu. Unrelated...right? Solvable?

Should I try the fix suggested by the prior post?

Yes, you can try it. It should work. ON a side question, are you running Linux 64 bits?

Can you help with this problem?
