Script: chrome://noscript/content/noscriptOverlay.js:1566

Asked by Sharon Mack

My computer screen turns dark and this error message comes up:
Script: chrome://noscript/content/noscriptOverlay.js:1566
The screen freezes often though it starts allowing me to continue what I was doing after a minute or so. Mostly happens when playing games but can happen while playing a video.

If you disable noscript, is it ok?

I don't see where it says disable script. However, in reading another post with similar problem I downloaded and extension called 'noscript' from firefox, but my computer is still doing the dark screen thing. It just freezes the page I'm on for less than a minute sometimes longer. I usually minimize the screen and wait a few then it clears back up again. This is the exact error message I'm getting: chrome://noscript/content/noscriptOverlay.js:1566. I don't know what this means and I'm not versed in most computer lingo. I had two other issues that were solved but it seems just as I get one resolved something else pops up.

Did you add the noscript extension to your browser?

Yes, it's called 'NoScript 2.4.9 The NoScript Firefox extension provides extra protection for Firefox, Seamonkey and other mozilla-based browsers: this free, open source add-on allows JavaScript, Java, Flash and other plugins to be executed only by trusted web sites of your choice (e.g. your online bank).

NoScript also provides the most powerful anti-XSS and anti-Clickjacking protection ever available in a browser.
However, it's still freezing sometimes not as much but still doing it when playing certain games especially on FaceBook

Yes I'm fully aware of what it is, but it's not important right now. Have you tried disabling it to see if the issue still happens.

What any plugin does is irrelevant, we are exploring what is causing the ssue. It could make the browser a billion times faster but itf it makes itcrash then we need to first realize that it is that plugin causing the issue then troubleshoot that, it's called 'isolating the issue', why did you type all that useless info in #4. Did you really not think I knew what noscript was?

I was just adding enough info so you can see exactly what I did. I added the NoScript just to see if it would solve my freezing problem but it hasn't. Planning to remove it, it's a pain to keep directing it to allow certain pages to load. You must realize that I am clueless as to how much or how little info you will need to have a good idea what I'm experiencing. Sorry for the excess info.

It's worth diabling to test, have you tried other browsers too?

Thanks for the suggestions I will try that and see if I get better results.
