No possible to see the on line vdeo like You tube ecc.

Asked by Alberto Consonni

The issue is that isn't no possible to see the video on line, like you tube and similar.

I am using a old PC: Pentium 3 with 600 MB of ram and Ck 900 Mhz .

When there was installed Win XP , (with Firefox and Adobe plugin) the on line videos was ok

After installed lubuntu 10.4, with Firefox 13.0.1 and the plugin Shockwve Flash 11.2 r202, the online videos don't run

I also updated the system, using Synaptic Package Manager but without result

I also checked for of a off line video (.AVI file), and using GnomeMplayer it is reproduced without problems.

Thanks in advance for your help

Alberto

What windows does or doesn't do is irrelevant. It is a completely different OS with completely different support.

Can you give the output of:

lsb_release -a; uname -a; dpkg -l | egrep 'flash|gnash|swf|spark'

Thanks

sudo apt-get --purge remove flashplugin-installer

Then enable the partner repo and install the adobe-flashplugin package

Just so you know, Ludic only has 9 months support in it. I suggest you format and reinstall with a clean install of Precise. Not only is it LTS but it is also the latest stable Ubuntu release.

Andrew

I done the tasks but without result.

The web videos don't run.

(I removed the plugin with the "sudo apt-get --purge remove flashplugin-installer" command,

and after I installed adobe-flashplugin using "Synaptic Package Manager" from official site )

About the last version 12.04 Precise, I have some doubt about the HW compatibility of the PC, that i am using, because it is old.

I am doing this activity as volunteer, for a no-profit organization, and the PC available are very old: or
last version of pentium 3 or in the better case pentium 4.

You don't need any website, it's all available in the repos
