Bank login stopped working...

Asked by Joe Gaude

Hello there!

Odd problem here... On Ubuntu 12.04... trying to loing to www. starone.org and get a "no response from server" timeout. It used to work with 11.10... This is with either Chromium or Firefox.. My mac works, windows works.. but not Ubuntu. The bank and Comcast, who provides my internet and router, have been no help at all.

I've tried changing a lot of setting but nothing fixes it..

I have access to the url, I get the home page, I type in my login id and password, and the browser just waits.. stating "waiting for server". Then after about 3-5 minutes, it will time out and state "no response from server". I've tried turning off my firewall on my router.. no help..

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Do you have any plugins running that might be messing with the login process? Adblock? No script? Etc can all cause problems with certain websites for example.

Hi Tyler,

Thanks for the reply. No, it's out of the box Firefox... For plugins I have divx, itunes, quicktime, shockwave, vlc and Window s media. Extensions are Global menu bar and Ubuntu Firefox mods.. Nothing else have been installed. It's Firefox v12.0.

Try using an agent switcher, make the system think you are using Windows OS. This is reported by the browser and is changeable.

Can you help with this problem?
