Is it all the screen, or just firefox? If you close Firefox is the desktop OK?

Its everything. Even if I'm just on the desktop its still all big. Also I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.

In Firefox type:

ctrl + 0

or

ctrl + +

or

ctrl + -

Or use the Firefox, View → Zoom menu

Then why mention Firefox if it's everything? How is Firefox a factor if the entire desktop environment is affected, not just one application???
