Firefox 11 doesn't recognize my cache setting

Asked by chris_blues

Hi!

I wonder why FF11 stopped recognizing my cache setting. "browser.cache.disk.parent_directory" is set to /tmp, where /tmp is a tmpfs, but still the cache is stored in /home/myname/mozilla/firefox/bla/cache somewhere...
It worked up to version 10. Now, somewhere between FF10 and now it happened, not so sure when...

I'd really appreceate any help on this one, since google and help.mozilla and all the other sites can't seem to help me... They all say the same: Set "browser.cache.disk.parent_directory" to the folder you want, and thats it. If it only where true... :-/

Thanks in advance!

Regards
chris

Yeah i put a colon istead of a semicolon. My bad.

browser.cache.disk.parent_directory

is the value to change according to
http://essayweb.net/miscellany/firefox_cache.shtml

Or you could just make a folder then symlink the cache folder to the other place.

Yeah, that would be the dirty workaround. Thanks for the idea!
but still, why doesn't this work? Was sth changed in the FF11?

No idea, I haven't used Firefox in a LONG time. I think it is a poor browser.
