ubuntu 10.04 Firefox 9.0.1 no local links

Asked by John Gelm

I have been programming on my LAMP based desktops for 10+ years. First with Slackware and then with Ubuntu since U7.4.

Today my local links are not working! FYI, my PHP code is on my workstation as well as Apache and MySQL. My links are local, as they have been for over 10 years. My links had been working until I ran 'Update Manager' today. I would like very much to get back to work! What did you do?

I STFW and find that there may be some kind of security issue that is the cause.

I hope you can understand my surprise, frustration and anger at this time. I want my system back NOW.

I have screen prints that can show the problem if you need them. However I cannot see any way to include them along with this message.

What can I do so I can get back to work?

Bad html on my end. Been wrong since forever. New Firefox caught it.
