launchpad login trouble with Oneiric

Asked by dino99

Cant login on launchpad when i use Oneiric i386 since end of Sept 7th: refused because after entering password and validating, i get "sorry you comes from a too old page" or so, "try again", but still refused. Trying to login somewhere else, works as usual.

Trying with Natty, i can login as usual

what can i do ? ( would like to be able to report, thanks)

What browsers have you tried?
Have you tried with a new user to give vanilla settings?

its with a genuine Oneiric i386 installation using Firefox.
Seems to be related to the latest Firefox upgrade: 7.0~b4+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu1

output message is:

your page was unused

we apologize, the page you came from is a bit old. You may have arrived here from a browser windows other than the one you used to log on. If this happen, try using an other browse window. Or try again from our home page.

But this is from home page after a fresh cold boot. (posting from a Natty laptop)

What browsers have you tried? Answered: Firefox 7;0 b4 ... Is that not what you have asked ?

Have you tried with a new user to give vanilla settings?
Dont have yet as i prefer to continue with this one; by the way this issue is only (new) with Oneiric.

Then try installing other browsers to see if it is only affecting Firefox. You should also make a new user to see if it is the same there (with both users).

Basically you seem to have done zero troubleshooting which you NEED to do if you are using pre-releases (which is what Oneiric currently is). Yes you may want to prefer your current user, but Oneiric is riddled with bugs, glitches and feature holes so you need to work out exactly where the fault lies so you can take action.

In case it's not clear: actionparsnip is asking you to try with a new user, and to try with a different browser, because these are **diagnostic steps** that help track down where the problem lies. The intention is not that you should actually be content with either of those workarounds as solutions to your problem. Instead, you need to try those things and provide information about what happens, if you want us to be able to help you *solve* your problem.

Sorry to have take times to send feedback

Have installed installed midori from Oneiric genuine repo, and i dont get issue to log in with the same user/password. So to check again with FF, i've logout from midori, but still get the same error with FF. Now i need to test the FF plugins installed (private security) in case of one of them is blocking something.

Thanks for your help.

Did you discover that one of your Firefox add-ons was causing the problem?
