Hi Claire.

There is a very good explanation in this website about what you are looking for :

http://www.liberiangeek.net/2011/03/parental-control-ubuntu-11-04-natty-narwhal/

It is called "Parental Control".

Hope this helps!

Hi Claire,

Just be advised that there really is no subsitute for simply having the computer in a "common" area in your home. These settings can be disabled by a sufficiently knowledgeable user, simply by running their own custom OS (eg from a live CD). A bios password + boot order lock could mitigate this somewhat, but its still possible for a determined user to circumvent some of these restrictions (eg by resetting the BIOS at the hardware level).

Secondly, the block is only performed at the application level, so if you were to plug in a second computer, this second computer would be unaffected.

if your son is only young, or only uses computers infrequently, these may not be a particular problem

Can you help with this problem?
