Youtube runs in slow motion on a Asus E35M1-I DELUXE AMD Fusion.

Asked by Pikachux

Youtube runs in slow motion on a Asus E35M1-I DELUXE AMD Fusion despite proprietary drivers having been auto-installed on first bootup.

Ati catalyst control center is in the system menu so it has indeed been correctly installed but it's as if it's not making use of the radeon hardware so youtube runs with slow frames even when not using 1080p.

Is this motherboard fully supported by ubuntu or do i need to install something extra for smooth playback?.

uname -a; lsb_release -a; echo; dpkg -l | grep flash; dpkg -l | grep gnash; dpkg -l | grep swf

Thanks

That's why. You need to run:

sudo apt-get --purge remove adobe-flash-properties-gtk adobe-flashplugin; sudo apt-get clean; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get -y install flashplugin-nonfree

Close ALL browsers, then rerun, should be ok

I tried Windows 7 on this motherboard last night just to be sure and even when running it + all drivers installed it won't push youtube 1080p, so in linux you basically need to use mplayer/vlc inside firefox with VDPAU/VAAPI turned on to make youtube run full speed.

Flash is too bloated i guess!.

Thanks for the support :).
