"organize Bookmarks" is nowhere to be seen under "Bookmarks" menu

Asked by phil74

Running Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit (alpha 3).

The "organize bookmarks" sub-menu is not displayed under the "bookmarks" menu as it should be. A search through Mozilla's support pages gave me no hint.

Thanks, Paul

Hi;

In Firefox 4, "Organize Bookmarks" has been renamed to "Show All Bookmarks". It brings up the same Bookmarks Library.

Hope this helps...

Thanks Emre; I checked that one before asking though.

What's missing under "show All Bookmarks" is the ability to backup/restore bookmarks which was present under "organize Bookmarks"

Have you try to reset your firefox configuration? Close Firefox, then type the following command in terminal.

mv .mozilla .mozilla_backup

Open Firefox again and check the menu again. If the problem has gone away, you should install your addons, themes...etc again.

I tried that mv command (although I'm on a fresh 11.04 install); alas still the same result, ie, no "organize Bookmarks" shown.

Thanks anyway. Any other clues?

Please have a look at the following picture, it is in the menu at top of the screen. May be you didn't see it.

Ps. I'm also using Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit (alpha 3) with upgrades applied and Firefox 4 RC 1.

OK; I got to the bottom of it. It was related to the integration of Unity within FF. Disabling the Global Menu Bar Integration extension (in Tools->Add-ons) solved my problem with the usual menus reappearing in the "Show All Bookmarks" main menu.

Thanks for your time & help!

I confirm. Global Menu Bar Integration extension (in Tools->Add-ons) is source of this problem. Disabling it.
