Here is how to install Firefox 4.0 BETA:

http://digitizor.com/2010/09/04/install-firefox-4-ubuntu/

As far as I know, you cannot do an upgrade from a stable release (Firefox 3.6) to a BETA release (Firefox 4 beta) in Ubuntu.

But you can keep 2 separate versions of Firefox installed side-by-side.
To ensure that you always have a stable release of Firefox available, Ubuntu creates a separate launch icon for Firefox 4 BETA and a separate icon for the stable release (v3.6).

Or you can just install Wine and install the Windows version then. This way, you will have BOTH versions on your computer
