when you download something, the popup thing should allow to you choose what you want to do. you can choose to open the application with archive manager or save it to a drive.

No can do. I can either open with Archive Manager or Save, which saves to hard drive not a flash drive. Help

@marcus aurelius
In Ubuntu, the default Firefox setting is set to /home/username/Download folder, which is your local drive.
User needs to change it manually in Firefox preferences.

@Teresa Brown
You can save to other locations by changing its preferences.
In the Firefox menubar, go to Edit > Preferences > General tab
Under "Downloads", you can select "Always ask me where to save files"
Click "Close" and you are done.
Now when you select "Save file" in the dialog window, you can choose other locations.

Hope this helps! :)
