Can't play streamed audio

Asked by Richard Wilmot

I want to use the BBC i-player to catch up on missed radio programmes. It works fine in Windows but on Ubuntu 10.10 it seems to start loading the stream but doesn't play it. Looking at other answers, I've got adobe flash plugin, restricted extras and jre6 installed but no joy. Haven't tried other stations as I really only want BBC. I can play mp3 files and music CDs OK. I'm new to Linux so not too technical, please!

I've solved it by installing Adobe AIR. The i-player still has some problems but these affect other people also so hopefully will be corrected in due course.
