Warning Unresponsive Script

Asked by maxmillen

When going to the internet(firefox) especially when typing a website, I get a darkened screen and a warning Unresponsive Script:chrome://worldip/content/worldip.js:637. I don't use chrome, I would guess js is javascript, OS is Ubuntu 10.04. It happens when using both Google and Startpage. Anyone ever have this problem? Everything has been updated. It stays darkened for about 30 - 45 seconds. Then I get continue or cancel. It's really getting irritating because it happens every time I type someting into the search engine.

it looks like you have installed a buggy addon.

In firefox go to tools > addons and look for a worldip addon. Disable it.

Hi, could you provide WorldIP version? Do you have latest 2.1.4?
WorldIP isn't bugged addon - with more then 340.000 downloads. But some old version have bugs, and they are fixed already.
If you have found a specific bug, could you please report about it to <email address hidden>.
Thanks!

I feel so stupid. Yeah I've been using that application for a while now. It tells what country the website is from and all that. It needed to be updated and I just kept denying it. Your IP address is 91.189.89.224 UK. Thanks for you're help. Sometimes it's the most obvious thing staring you in the face. You guys are great, always responsive. Long live Ubuntu.
