Downloading latest version, do I lose my data on file?

Asked by bulldogpi

If I update to Ubunto 10.10, do I lose ALL of my data on the hard drive? I can't remember what happened when I last upgraded to a newer version of Ubunto. I do remember I lost all of my screen savers and backgrounds. Plus, I hated it when I lost that cool screen saver with the radar scope.

No, it only upgrades the binarys. Settings and such are untouched. You SHOULD also have a BACKUP of your data so I am shocked you are asking this....

Can you help with this problem?
