If you add the mozilla ppa you can get 3.6.14 which may fix the issue.

I have added ppa and i have updated Mozilla Firefox to 3.6.14 but the problem is unchanged : it always goes in crash.
With this update an other problem now is added to the Mozilla Firefox: self identify with the name "Namoroca" with new logo like a blue world !!!!.
What is it me happened ??
Tanks.

if you rename ~/.mozilla/firefox then retry the browser, is it ok?

Namaroka is the codename for the beta of 3.6, it's still firefox though. The PPA didn't help so I suggest you remove the PPA and uninstall firefox, then reinstall it to get the 3.6.12 from the ubuntu repos.

Does a fresh profile make the browser not crash?

Do you know if a correction is planned in next Firefox release that resolve the crash Javasript ('push') problem?
If you know this i can wait the new release in actual situation without go back to the previous configuration.
Tanks.

Does this still occur with the latest stable updates to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid? (Or, if you have switched to a later version of Ubuntu, then with all the latest updates to that version?) What version of Ubuntu and Firefox are you currently running? To get the whole package version for Firefox, you can open a Terminal window -- Ctrl+Alt+T -- then run "apt-cache policy firefox" without the quotes. This tells you what version is installed. Please do the same thing for Chrome/Chromium.

Is this happening only on some websites, or does it happen on all websites that have javascript? If the former, please give some examples of websites.

Also, when you say that this is a crash, what do you mean? Does Firefox exit? In Chrome/Chromium, do all web browser windows close, or just the tab you are in?

I have noticed that you have filed a bug report about this (bug 688001). Is there any reason you did not report it with Apport, so that detailed crash data would be submitted?
