firefox in netbook 10.10

Asked by Andres Muniz

HI there,

Firefox does not dock the File, edit, view, ... menu on the top task bar like some of the other program does. Is this meant to be?

I also have an add on that claims I should be able to put my favourites to the Ubuntu netbook launcher. Does not work for me or I cannot make it work. I tried pulling a tab to the launcher and all it does is open another window.

When I close firefox the whole screen goes blank for a second then the desktop image comes back and then the launcher and finally the tip task bar.

If any of the above are bugs, please let me know and I'll report them.

I suggest you use TinyMenu plugin to put them into one button, you can then rejig the screen to make the Firefox controls be on one line. You will then maximize the vertical screen real-estate. This is an old screenshot of my Firefox when I used to use the (crappy) browser

The theme is liquifox but you get the general idea.

The favorites you add in Firefox should be autoadd to the favorites in the netbook interface

If you have bugs, do log them as they get things fixed.

Ok, kindof what i was looking for, might give it a go at tiny menu.

it seems the docking is being reported already.

I have a similar problem: my menu.edit.tool. view line in Firefox has disappeared. I have tried many things to no avail, from the FF website, which does not seem to address the issue well on Linux (Maverick 10.10)

Also the terminal commands given do not start FF in safe mode as they should, why is this?

All of the suggestions using Alt +VT etc do nothing.

It presumably happened with a clash of keys sometime, i seem to remember i was using open office and tired to hide the tool bar, and when i went back to FF its was missing.

It's so annoying. I've tried right clicking everywhere to bring up some preferences, but there's nothing and no accurate answer to this question.

I'm new to Ubuntu, and otherwise happy with it, now it's being a pain .. .. ..

more bashing about.... ..and I managed to open in FF in safe mode, by right clicking the launcher icon, selecting propertie,s and changing it from 'firefox %u' in the command line to 'firefox -safe-mode', up popped the options in preferences to reset and show all toolbars, and at least it's back to its original look.

hi sorry but i went back to 10.04 so can't check this. I'll wait for next LTS.

Can you help with this problem?
