firefox3.6 theme error - black look

Asked by ekeyme

My firefox theme can not be show now. The whole browser rim turns to be black. Like this pic. shows: http://goo.gl/6kpC
Came cross this error for several times. And when trouble occurs the theme pictures in [[firefox ****.default]] directory turns black or shows different from original theme look(sometime it just display a corner of the ori. picture). Using intact theme pic can temporarily solve it. This error behaves like an internet-connect-loading problem, but I'm not sure, so get help in here.

[firefox theme] Abstract Black: http://goo.gl/c8aH // not install personas add-on
[firefox version] 3.6.9 & 3.6.10 have the same error
[OS] ubuntu-10.10

[more][firefox add on] // I think the add-on [[Yoono]] may have some crash with firefox.

This indicates you've installed a theme from the web e.g mozilla or whatever, is this correct?

> not install personas add-on

And this indicates you didn't install a theme from personas add-on, is this correct?

Since Firefox uses as default embedded Ubuntu gtk-themes, other themes may have corrupt the profile.
However in the meantime to roll back you could close Firefox, move .mozilla and restart Firefox.
After this you can reimport e.g. bookmarks from the 'broken' mozilla folder.
Then successive reimport extensions to see in case which one is the culprit.

Also you could disable visual effects (compiz) to see if the strange behaviour remains.

At the end you may consider to report a bug if you're sure this is an application bug.

well I use a very stupid way to solve this problem. Just change the permission of the relative files.
