how to record from the net, ie videos or youtub??

i would love to know I can save video or song from the inter net like from you tub or chips and then to be able to splies then to gether.??

You should only download videos and songs that permit you to do so under their licensing terms.

YouTube videos are stored temporarily on your computer anyway, so it's simple enough to copy them from the /tmp directory to another location.

To edit clips and music together you need a video editor. PiTiVi and OpenShot are the two friendly ones. At least one of them is likely to be installed on your computer already, but they're both in the Ubuntu Software Centre.
